Shanghai, China

The Shanghai Fu Shou Yuan Humanism Memorial Museum created a temporary Before I Die wall in a nearby cemetery as part of Qingming Jie, or ‘Tomb-Sweeping Day’, a holiday when people mourn their dead by cleaning their graves and offering food, wine, and tea to their ancestors.

I want to be a happy woman.

I want to travel through space and look through galaxies.

I want to face death bravely.

I want to open a coffee house.

I want to cherish my lover forever.

I want to become who I am.

I want to go to the south pole.

I want to return to nature.

I want to realize my lover’s wishes.

I want to sing a song to a million people.

I want to play mahjong with family.

I want to go back to my hometown.
